 Field Trip Experiences
September through June
Teacher Resources help prepare classes for their visit to the Museum.
Tailor-made field trips to the Museum are available to students of any grade level ranging from preschool to college. The Museum offers a standard field trip geared for students at the elementary school level.
The experience, Meeting Connecticut's Masters, is made up of three of four possible tour components:
Miss Florence and the Artists of Old Lyme, a student-centered tour of the historic rooms of the Griswold House to learn the story of the Art Colony at Old Lyme.
What? Why? Wow! An interactive learning-to-look activity that focuses on the paintings in the second floor gallery.
Hands-On, Minds-On, a hands-on art-making project using authentic materials on the grounds or in the Museum's Hartman Education Center.
The Art of Connecticut, a student-centered tour of the Museum's preeminent collection of art from Connecticut from the Colonial era to the 1920s.
